The Business School’s placements team were 2019 winners of the National Undergraduate Employability Awards. We are now seeking to recruit a number of outstanding individuals for a key research and teaching positions in a number of disciplines as outlined below to play a crucial role in the School achieving its vision.
The Department of Decision Analytics and Risk at Southampton comprises more than 30 academics with teaching and research interests that include Management Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Operations and Risk Management. Members of the department have published in multiple top journals and are part of CORMSIS research centre. The department has a thriving undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio, which is built on the research strengths of the department staff.
You will have a PhD (or equivalent degree/professional qualifications and experience) as well as a well-established academic reputation in your specialist discipline, demonstrated by a significant record of high quality published research (minimum ABS3*level or equivalent standing). We are especially interested in the areas of business analytics, including big data analytics and/or deep learning. We particularly welcome candidates who have experience with current machine learning/big data frameworks, e.g. Keras, Tensorflow or Pytorch. Visible, engaged and collegiate you will have an extensive experience of teaching at undergraduate and post graduate level and be passionate about developing and disseminating successful learning techniques, as well as a track record in securing research funding.
*Applications will also be considered from candidates interested in part time hours of 0.6FTE and above. You will be asked to give details of your preferred working hours at the application stage. For applicants interested in a Part Time role, please note: This role is unlikely to support a Certificate of Sponsorship with a part time salary amount (a Certificate of Sponsorship is required to obtain a Tier 2 visa to work in the UK).
