The EURO (Association of European Operational Research Societies) working group on OR in Agriculture and Forest Management invites you to participate in the EURO PhD School on “Optimization and Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture” Lleida-2025, which will be hosted at the University of Lleida in Spain, in cooperation with its the ALIO working group Agroptimización and the CYTED thematic network AI4AgroIB, from June 26th to July 4th , 2025.
Scope
The EURO PhD School Lleida-2025 on “Optimization and Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture” will be composed of three Streams, namely: 1. Stream of Optimization methodologies; 2. Stream of Artificial intelligence; 3.Applications to Agriculture; and 4. Stream of hybrid proposals. Due to its interdisciplinary flavour, this conference brings together researchers of the areas of Decision Sciences, Operations Research, Agricultural Economics, Computer Science, Animal Science, Environmental Management and
Agriculture production. Agricultural Decision Problems approached either with optimization, AI methods or both are very much encouraged to be presented to this EURO PhD School.
Contributions
We encourage the application of candidates wanting to be enriched with the presentations of reputed academics and researchers and exchange preliminary results of their PhD. All participants, accepted candidates, will have to present a poster. Applicants are requested to submit their curriculum vitae (including their academic track record), a letter outlining their motivation to attend, and a letter of recommendation from their supervisor to the Scientific Committee of the EPS via the Application form available at the website of the School (REGISTRATION menu). Registration fee: 450 € for accepted participants covers accommodation in double or triple room, lunches and social activities like banquet, visits and excursion. They are also eligible for financial support to cover travel expenses and/or registration fee. For the rest of participants, the registration fee is of 650€.

– Decision tools based on image processing
– Methodologies and Applications in Agricultural Economics;
– Decision-making using electronic devices or sensors;
– Stochastic optimization;
– Machine learning methods in Agriculture;
– Approximated solutions to optimization problems;
– Artificial intelligence and metaheuristics;
– Simulation of agriculture systems;
– Applications of Decision Systems in Agriculture and Livestock production.
