INESC TEC has opened a position for a researcher with an MSc degree (Industrial Engineering and Management, Operational Research, or similar) to work in our research group on the framework of the project entitled “Siu-SMS: Smart (inter)urban shared mobility systems” financed by FCT.
The project concerns quantitative methods for decision support in shared mobility systems, namely fleet management and pricing problems under uncertainty. The goal is to develop new models and approaches, namely mathematical models, heuristics and hybrid methods, to solve problems in this scope.
More information about the project can be found on the website http://sites.google.com/view/siu-sms/home.
The candidate is expected to have a strong quantitative background and scientific expertise, namely in Operational Research. Moreover, an ideal candidate for this project would have experience and will to conduct research in applied problems, alongside a high level of autonomy. Fluency in object-oriented programming languages (e.g., C++) and proficiency in communication in English are required.
Although tuition fees are not covered by the project, with this research position, there is the opportunity to enrol in the Doctoral Program in Industrial Engineering and Management, in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto.
The call is open from 13/06/2018 to 15/07/2018, and it would be desirable that the candidate could start by 26/07/2018.
